Hey all! Miss me?!
Remember the good ol’ days when I posted weekly? Oh, hahahahahaha, THOSE days are long gone. But I’m still dedicated to dropping in when I can to keep this machine going. Bear with me.
Where have I been, you ask? More like where haven’t I been (yuk, yuk, yuk)? Seriously though, I’ve been taking advantage of my new “empty nest” situation and going places. I’d love to tell you all about it, give you every last detail but I don’t have it in me. So instead of doing a proper write-up, I’m cheaping out and offer a summary of each place I’ve been in the form of a haiku.
New Orleans, part 2:
Rain, rain, go away
Slipped on a streetcar—oopsy!
No new friends that day*
Florida:
Circus-themed road trip
Clowns & boats & birds—oh my!
Stalled, safe from gators.
Los Angeles:
Willis Wonderland
Whirled up on ’We Are The World’
Wet warehouse of weird.
Tacoma:
Dive bar in a pot
Tacoma in Tacoma
Found: Elks speakeasy
Lakewood:
Soak, steam, and sauna
So much dead skin was scrubbed off!
Tea, then more soaking.
Oakland:
Not mine anymore
Light is greater than darkness
Cuz: ’I wear suits now.’
Austin:
Texas bluebonnets
’Ain’t No Man Worth It‘
I really do care.

*This one doesn’t do right by the second half of my NOLA trip but it is a true story.

FUNTIME: I picked up this hilarious old coloring book off of a table at the Pasadena Flea to show a friend. I quipped something to her and then put it back down. The guy selling it laughed and said, “Did you just say that should be a TATTOO?!” I hadn’t but someone should do that. 🤡
